The Legacy of Bro. Martavius Javon Ezell

With profound sadness, we announce the homegoing of Bro. Martavius Javon Ezell, lovingly known as “Tay,” who departed this life on September 15, 2024. Born on April 1, 1988, Martavius leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted mother, Pamela Ezell, his beloved children, siblings Ocie Rose, Jaquinton Ezell, Fiive Banz, and many family members and friends who will hold his memory dear.


A wake/viewing will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Paul M.B. Church in Homestead, FL.


The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Main Sanctuary of Second Baptist Church, located at 11111 Pinkston Drive, Richmond Heights, FL 33176. Following the service, Bro. Ezell will be cremated, and there will be no burial. We come together to honor his life, uplift one another, and find comfort in shared memories.


A repast will follow at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Florida City Pioneer Museum, located at 826 S. Krome Avenue, Florida City, FL 33034.


In addition, a candlelight vigil will be held in Martavius’ honor on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Roby George Park, located at 275 S.W. 11th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030. Please bring white candles as we gather in remembrance. During the vigil, a balloon release will take place, with 10 balloons released by his children, parents, and brothers as a heartfelt tribute to his life.


The Fish Fry will be held afterward at His Grandmother’s House, located at 539 S.W. 14th Street, Florida City, FL 33034.


Your prayers, support, and presence are deeply appreciated during this time of mourning and remembrance.
